Citizens of Midgaard are becoming increasingly concerned with the rising levels of LOL emissions coming from MUD channels, it was discovered yesterday.

LOL, or 'Lack Of Linguistics', has always been a common byproduct from uneducated minds on channels, and has been directly linked to depletion of the Bozone layer, a level of the atmosphere which protects the MUD from becoming any dumber.

In recent months however, levels of LOL have skyrocketed, and on the more heavily affected channels such as gossip, high levels of ROFL and even ROFLMAO, known highly toxic oxidates of LOL have been discovered. Various members of the public have demanded measures to control the use of LOL. Allowing the use of LOL only three times per level is one popular idea, as is not allowing the user to know how funny his comment preceded by the LOL was.

But Imms are remaining noncommital on the whole subject. "I really don't see it as a problem at the minute," said Citron, earlier. "Besides, it's really hard to quantify the stupidity of individual players over a length of time. I mean, I can think of half a dozen cases where they couldn't possibly get any stupider."
