End of the world: a Survival Guide
Written by Ceux

As we all know, the end of the world is nearing according to old Mayan lore. Some of us might be sceptical about the validity of their predictions, but when people still talk about them 1200 years later, you better take the Mayans seriously. It’s time, therefore, to focus on what really counts and to make the most out of the little remaining time we have left. While there is nothing we can do to save ourselves, we must do everything we can to protect our beloved in-game characters. Here’s a short survival guide to ensure that your legacy lives on!

Once the end begins, there are only a few safe places to ride out the initial shockwave of earthquakes. Biggest threats are tsunamis, so make sure you are far away from coast lines. The Jungles of Verume, e.g., must be avoided. Mountain tops offer good protection, but even better is to seek protection in the sky. An obvious choice would be the Guardians Spyre Of Knowledge since it protects you high and dry in rooms like Angel’s Haven and there is no level lock, so any and all player is welcome.

For those who can’t fly, but are comfy underwater, no worries: take shelter in the deep! Tsunamis won't touch you, so you would be perfectly safe. Any ocean will do, it really depends on your personal preferences of seaweed. The Southern Ocean, e.g., offers seaweed that is crunchy with a slightly salted aftertaste, while the consistency of the seaweed in the Uncharted Ocean offers a rich bouquet of flavors that is, well, difficult to map out.

The end of the world is by definition a stressful time and the The end of the world is by definition a stressful time and the last thing you want to do is shop for food, right?last thing you want to do is shop for food, right? So get the “No Hunger or Thirst” wish from Vira. This not only keeps you well-fed and hydrated, it also allows you share the food and drinks you have with others. Angel’s Haven will get crowded and your food and beverages will certainly be appreciated. Study up on jokes, practice how to crack them best, and you will be a superhero in no time in the eyes of your fellow survivors!

Besides the wish, make sure that you have enough gold on you. Do not trust the Aylorian Bank of Ivar because it might be unreachable or your gold might simply be gone. The end of time does crazy things with people and looting is a real possibility, so be smart and clear out your balance as soon as you can. This takes some planning because you certainly do not want to be schlepping around millions of coins in time of panic. Best would be to exchange them into TP tokens: they are lightweight are easily exchanged back into gold the moment you need it.

Finally, try to get the following items as they are key items of any survival kit. Areas are not included, so search form them. It will take your mind off of things until the end of time starts:
  • A compass, from Antonius
  • pair of scissors, from Catherine
  • Survival belt from Taboo
  • Survival kit from Mayvar
  • Survival potion from Gwyson
  • Bandages from a mummified corpse
  • Medicated cotton swab from Wendell

With these tips and pointers, you should be able to make it through the end of the world as we know it and join me in the new brave world thereafter!
