Yes, a life of a kitten was joyful, nothing to fear, and above all, the kitten population was numerous.

And then it all had to change.

Supposedly more intelligent races began to enslave these once carefree beasts. Mortal and Immortal had placed faithful kitten companions by their sides. These tried and true travelling companions would sit at attention in any condition, from raining fire and brimstone to underwater dwellings, for days upon end.

Most people respected their loveable, loyal kittens and treated them with the respect that they had so well earned. Yet, that was not the case for the entire population. Some sects of society had taken it upon themselves to show malice and bitter hatred to their kitten companions. In short, it was kitten genocide.

Thankfully, this type of behaviour did not go unnoticed. However, it was almost too late. Kittens have now been put upon the endangered list due to their dwindling numbers. Local kitten celebrity Brutus is saddened by this chain of events. "We, the adorable companions that have accompanied many a traveller, were struck down in cold blood" says Brutus.

And it is not just the kitten population that is suffering due to the dwindling population figures. Aylorian Pet's and Companions has announced a massive drop in profits since kittens were made unavailable in it's stores. Rwaul, the esteemed 'pet shop boy' says "I just cannot understand how people could do such a thing"

So it is this that I ask. When will kittens be upheld by society as the heroes they are, and be admired for their perseverance through the losses that they have suffered? When will we hear Mota say "Thou shalt not intentionally put a kitten in harm's way"?
