The Best MUD Just Got Better
But it don't come cheap
Written by Morrolan

In light of mounting server and internet costs, Aardwolf announces a new pay-to-play option to increase the fun per dollar ratio!

The imm staff were very apologetic about this, but cite low donations and a Top Mud Sites scam that wasn't paying them per click. Not to worry, though! Most of the mud will still be free, but with added content and features available to paying players.

The lowest level will be Club Aylor. This will be the usual fun, backstabbing, channel diarrhea that you are used to. All of the current areas, rules and perks that you have right now will be available. This level is free to play. There is only one caveat. Once an hour, you will receive a short global message encouraging you to join one of the improved plans or, in the future, outside advertising.

The first paying stage will be called Back to Midgaard. At this stage, you can opt to pay $5 a month, or $50 for a year's worth. There are many benefits that players will begin to enjoy at this stage that enhance the game. For starters, you get access to two new races, Half-Dragon and Cyborg. These will have extra stat and racial bonuses that give them an edge for certain classes. All seven classes will also get a fully implemented fifth subclass only usable at this stage. (Except for Ranger which only has 4.) You will also get a personal restore once per month via ingame command.

Players choosing to contribute more to the franchise, at $10 a month  (or $100/year) are welcomed into the IMMer Circle. You get all of the benefits of BtM, plus you get There are many benefits that players will begin to enjoy at this stage that enhance the gameaccess to the imm-only channel (better than Aylor's only-visible imm chatter) Additionally, you receive a 10% discount on all quest items, plus a 5 minute reduction in your quest timer. (Only 25 minutes between quests.)  New areas get vetted for these players so they can enjoy unbalanced levelling experiences. After an area has been exposed for 6 months, it gets nerfed (err, we mean balanced) a little, then offered to Midgaard. Club Aylor players will never see these areas except through advertisments and special FREE days to whet appetites. Immers can choose to advance up to tier 18.

At the pinnacle of service is the Lasher Invitational Private Sanctum. Entry into this level, is, as suggested, by invitation only, but usually comes after extra donations above and beyond the monthly fees have been offered. Here, you not only get all of the above perks, but you get an additional 10% discount on quest items (20% total) and reduction to 20 minutes between quests. You will also get access to the new mob Max Enchanter who will take an item you give it and return it to you with a max DR enchant, automatically. You also get to peek behind the scenes of the daily blessings code and tweak the percentages so that your favorite ones come out more often. Members of the LIPS service get the new max tier of 29.

All Paying Players will get an extra wear slot for as long as they are current on their payments. This will be a tabard worn <across the body> and have bonus stats that increase for each successive stage.
