'Twas a night like no other
Written by Rumour

'Twas a night like no other, with three moons in the sky,
When the sound of wings thwumping came down from on high.
The sound was a whisper so soft in your ear.
There was no hint of danger there was no need for fear.

The citizens of Aylor were snug in their beds,
With visions of Ivar dancing in their heads.
The doors were shut tight and the windows were barred,
Then alarm bells began tolling and awake all were jarred.

Dragons were flying over the city so low,
Their maws hanging open, their lungs to bellow
Fire and acid, shadow and ice,
People were fleeing, more frightened than mice.

The buildings began burning and turning to coal,
People were screaming from the depths of their soul.
The guards of the town all rallied around
And shot at the dragons to bring them to ground.

The dragons were tough, they put up a fight,
The soldiers of Aylor, filled with holy might
Ayla was watching and lending a hand,
Her powers for good known across the land.

Many heroes were born in Aylor that day,
The soldiers stood tall, the dragons they did slay
Were counted in dozens and scores or more,
A testament to the might of proud Aylor.
