Due to the overwhelming increase of friction between MXIT users and regular computer players of Aardwolf, Lasher has decided to set up a clone of Aardwolf and run it on a separate server so that the MXIT users can play exclusively on it.

This new version has been named "Reduced Environmental Text Aardwolf" or Ret-Aard for short. All room descriptions and mob descriptions have been removed to lower the amount of bandwidth for cell phone players. Additionally, the combat spam has been reduced to a single line of text stating whether you killed the mob or it killed you.  Of course, on this version, they can use Afrikaans on public channels all they want, so Aard Classic players can expect to see less of the "Jas" and "j00s".

Players on both versions hope that this will end much of the unpleasantness and name-calling and create a more harmonious playing environment for all. Please look for this new version on port 1337.
