First week kicks off with many deaths.
The first week of play in the AMFLU finished this month. Due to high causality rates, the second week has been postponed. Many a mob was nuked on grounds of possible bot type activity by referees Aerianne and WhitDjinn. This nuking was only temporary, as the botting in question only happened during the games of the week. In a related action, commentators Xeno and Ronnie were banned from every doing commentary in a game due to lewd comments and abuse of Xeno's Super Secret IMM Decoder ring. This ban had little effect on either player, as both found too much humor in the mob versus mob fights during the game. Xeno went on record as saying, "It is so much better this way, the mobs die, and we get the items and gold with no risk. What could be better, now how do I dial into Lasher's pad again?"
The first week was rather exciting as the Midgaardian City Guards, surprisingly, easily defeated the Anthrox Trolls 162 – 32. Part of the loss was blamed on player interference after a reboot, but there have been no confirmations of this. The game did seem rather one-sided through out much of the 2 hour game. The City Guards worked in a cohesive fashion that has made them the protectors of Midgaard. The choice of the Puking Troll as coach of the Anthrox Trolls was clearly the wrong one, and he may be replaced by Lamagra before the next games.
The Coral Kingdom Merpeople avoided heartbreak in the middle game. The Descent to Hell Demons were unable to overcome several nukings during the game. WhitDjinn exorcised several of the key defense penguins during the game. It appeared that the defense of the penguins was too closely aligned and appeared to be a bot program. After the game, WhitDjinn did apologize to Descent to Hell team coach, Blood Fountain, about the unfortunate and untimely nukings. Blood Fountain commented during the press conference "I don't feel like talking just now." The Merpeople won 52 – 48.
The late game squared the Port Sheep against the Faerie Tales Robin. The game ended in a tie as no mobile players were left on either team due to a global quest and an unhappy pair of referees. The GQ swept through the sheep just a moment before tip off. The Robins appeared to be on the verge on an easy victory. However, they had not counted on two referee immortals venting their stress and secret commands on the them. The final score was 0 – 0.
The Sunday night action pitted the Mob Factory Workers against the Deathtrap Dungeon Rangers. The Rangers won in impressive fashion. The Workers were all disbanded prior to the start of the game as their home area was replaced with the new Forest of Li’dnesh. The Forest team was unable to come together soon enough. The Rangers won 399999999999 – 0 as the new mobs offered little resistance. No nukings or mob deaths were reported.
Teams having a bye week were Talsa, Dwarven Kingdom, Reme, and Talsa.
Look towards next month as both the league resumes and the Halloween Tiddy Bowl takes place.
