Weight problems in Aardwolf: Anorexia on the rise About 50 percent of the population did not consume food or drink in the past and another 10 percent who were vampires existed mostly on blood. Despite these alarming figures, most aarders were discovered to be severely obese, often reaching the limits before they became hazards to the community.
When health experts did a research as to why such occurrences were in place, they were surprised to find that a large amount of the subjects declared gleefully "Mind over body". Never before had any studies shown that a strong mind was capable of overcoming malnutrition problems, but that overwhelming reply sparked off a flurry of studies.
A curious statistic about the vampire's nutrition though, was that the blood that they drank very often did not provide enough glucose for their blood-less stream and thus hunger pangs occurred much more quickly than thirst did. Studies showed that the vampires did not absorb the glucose in the blood as easily as they did the liquid component.
Although health experts were willing to let the "Mind over Body" theory undergo investigation before they took action against the miscreants, they were adamant about letting the fact that aarders weight fluctuated drastically and launched a new campaign "Eat and drink today". |
