Daoine's newest member, one Pete C. Tail (also known as Harvey), has been causing quite an uproar in Midga'ard with some of his latest pranks. His most recent victim was local farmer, Henry McGregor. Posing as a harmless, ordinary, oversized rabbit, Mr. Tail approached Farmer McGregor with a large basket containing, among other items, chocolate-flavored jellybeans. It was not until after consuming the entire contents of the basket that the farmer realized the jellybeans were not, in fact, chocolate. Indeed, they were not even jellybeans.
"Well, they was small and round, and he said they was chocolate... what was I s'posed to think?" said a very pale and greenish Farmer McGregor.
"We've always had a bit of a feud with them rabbits," said McGregor's wife, Edna, stifling a chuckle. "We caught the father not long back, and I baked him up in a pie. Since then, we've had a world of trouble with his kids comin' into our garden and stealin' lettuce and carrots and occasionally leavin' behind jackets and whatnot, but there ain't been nothin' like this up 'til now. "
When asked to comment, Daoine leader Tir could only shake his head and gibber incoherently. So we asked Diggler instead, who had this to say: "Really, none of us expected him to actually be much of a prankster. We just figured, what the hell, we can always use a few more cute, fluffy rabbits around the place."
"On the one hand, it really is just an awful thing to do to someone. But on the other hand, you gotta admit, it's a damned fine joke. That rabbit's just lucky he found someone stupid enough to fall for somethin' so obvious," added Mrs. McGregor, picking up a glass of lemonade that had appeared beside her just moments before.
