Fresh Inquest into Cemetary Corruption claims
Written by Wolfe

The Aylor city council has announced further inquiries into the amounts of money being spent on cemetaries in and around the city, as well as further afield, following accusations that they seem to be getting a lot of funding for doing next to nothing.

"It's all very well setting aside all this land for interment, and funding various gravedigging and undertaking activities," said an official spokesman earlier today, "but we've recently starting asking ourselves, what is it they actually do?"

"I mean, looking at it from a logistic point of view, approximately 14% of the world's population are undead to start with," he continued, "it's not like they're ever going to show an interest in booking a plot. At best, they might be considering a new coffin to bed down in every few centuries. I'm sure some of the gothier furniture stores, such as Ivarkea, could more than meet this need. And when you start considering the non vitally-challenged population, it gets even more suspicious."

He went on to explain how given the lack of permanent death in the world is in direct conflict with the need to provide a storage place for the non-alive. "People, mobs, whatever, they die, and stay dead for a few minutes, tops. Admittedly, they do leave corpses behind, but when these aren't sacrified in a flash of light to some deity or another, they generally rot away within an hour or two, leaving no trace. It's not terribly hygenic, I admit, but so what? You might die of some horrible disease, but it's hardly likely to spoil your afternoon. Sometimes it's actually quicker to die than walk home."

The Guild of Undertakers, Morticians, and Comedy Shakespearian Gravediggers were unavailable for comment, their spokesmen currently being located on the tropical isle of Quake.
